Blood Flow Restriction Training for Athletes: Barbell Physio Blog

https://thebarbellphysio.com/blood-flow-restriction-training-for-athletes/

This isn’t just another BFR article…

.

.

I recently had the pleasure of teaming up with @thehpm of @thebfrpros to co-author one of the most comprehensive and easily applicable pieces of BFR content available. Think BFR is only useful when recovering from injury or trying to get a pump? Think again!

.

In this article, we cover BFR training considerations for:

-Powerlifters

-Bodybuilders

-Olympic weight lifters

-Pain modulation and injury management

-Ischemic preconditioning

-Endurance athletes

.

We don’t stop there! We also offer sample programs for the above mentioned athletes in order to bring theory to practice!

.

Like I said…this isn’t just another BFR article…

.

Check it out over at the @thebarbellphysio blog!

.

.

Remember…the decision to use BFR, or any treatment for that matter, should be based on the pillars of evidence-based practice. BFR can be a useful tool for certain individuals at certain times, but it is certainly not something that is necessary to make progress toward your goals. If you’d like some more information on some of the potential benefits of BFR, don’t hesitate to reach out!
